At an event at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, Apple unveiled the fifth generation iPad which is dubbed iPad Air, the iPad Mini 2, and Mac Pro. To is set to increase massively, the number of tablets Apple has sold which already is 170 million according to Apple.
The
iPad Air comes with a 9.7-inch retina display, a 64-bit A7 processor
which gives it 2 times the CPU and graphics performance of its
predecessor, 43% smaller bezel than its predecessor iPad 4. It is 7.5mm
thick which is 25% thinner than the iPad 4 and weighs only 1lb ( kg)
which makes it the lightest tablet in the world according to Apple's
Phil Schiller.
The iPad Air comes in silver, white, space grey, and bla
ck
(sorry if you were expecting to hear gol…). It possesses a 5MP iSight
camera that has the capability to record a 1080p video. It has 4G
support and a 10hours battery.
Apple
says you need to hold this iPad to feel the full effect (is this an
advertising ploy?). iPad Air is expected to ship to 41 countries on the
1st November (Apple, why did you exclude Nigeria?). iPad Air will cost
$499 (about 80,000 naira) for the 16GB Wi-Fi version while the 16GB with
cellular will come at a price of $629 (about 100,000 naira). The
cellular is advisable here though because you won’t find Wi-Fi in so
many places at least compared to cellular.
The
iPad Mini 2 comes with a retina display. iPad Mini 2 remains the same
price with the first iPad Mini which is expected to be $399 (about
64,000 naira). The original iPad will now cost $299 (about 48,000
naira).
The
Mac Pro was unveiled along with the new OS X 10.9 Maverick. The Mac Pro
will come at a price of $2,999 (about 480,000 naira).
